Ex Altiora is inspired by the vastness and mystery of space, consciousness, and other realms at the edges of human understanding. The Latin term altus can refer to both height and depth, and the work’s title can be interpreted as meaning “from great heights” or “from the depths,” leaving that choice to the viewer.
